Bondurant-Farrar Education Foundation

  • Vision: To connect the community and the school district through outreach, support, and communication.

Mission: Partnering and supporting the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District to create opportunities for parents, alumni, friends, and the community at large to support and enhance educational excellence.

  • Who is the Bondurant Farrar Education Foundation?

We are an independent, non-profit organization that supports students through high-quality programs, activities, facilities, and sponsorships. The Foundation Board is currently made up of eight volunteers – parents, alumni, and community members. All are welcome to join us at our monthly meeting, which is generally held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Media Center or local business.

Where does the money come from?

Primarily from private donations and gifts as well as grants. The Bondurant-Farrar Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which provides tax benefits for individuals interested in tax-deductible donations, estates, and memorials.

    What does the Foundation do?

Founded in 2008, when there was a need, the Foundation works with the Bondurant-Farrar School District to support opportunities for students, teachers, and staff.

This takes all different forms – from existing, annual sponsorships, to one-off needs, like providing funds for the shelving at the high school food pantry. Our most recent addition is supporting the district's school lunch program as a way to combat student hunger and meet our students’ needs.

From 2012 to 2021, the Foundation coordinated an annual fundraising event, Party of Bluejays. During those 10 years, the event raised over $1.1 million and has contributed to hundreds of initiatives.

If you have an idea of how we can support the district, please contact us.

How can the community contribute to or support the Foundation?

Contact the Bondurant-Farrar Education Foundation via email at BFEFTreasurer1@gmail.com to make a donation. Your contribution can be earmarked to match your specific passion or request. If your employer offers volunteer programs, employer monetary matches, or donations through the United Way, consider giving to the Foundation.

Non-monetary contributions are welcome too – volunteer for specific events, committees, and ideas for how we can better support students, staff, and the district overall.

You can also follow us on Facebook at Party of Bluejays

    How do you request funds?

    • Parents, Students, and Community Members: Contact the Foundation so we can discuss potential next steps.

    • Teachers: Contact your building principal and follow internal budget processes.

    • Booster Clubs and Elementary PTO: Contact the District first so they can direct you accordingly. Sometimes we support needs, other times, the District may have resources for your needs.

Why does Bondurant-Farrar need an Education Foundation?

Education foundations exist to support schools, usually public, to generate private financial support to help with a range of activities and specific needs, including student scholarships, classroom grants, camps, clubs, equipment, teacher resources, and more.
